With the intention of capitalising on the rapid growth in the use of composites in the aerospace industry, CML Group has announced that it is to establish a new state-of-the-art facility in mid 2010 on the Wirral and close to the company’s existing facilities.
Having secured Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) grant funding to help finance the construction of its new 60,000ft² Bromborough, Merseyside-based facility, CML claims the state-of-the-art building will have sufficient space to facilitate the consolidation of all of its aerospace composites activities on one site.
CML Group’s Composites Division specialises in the manufacture and repair of glass and carbon fibre components and assemblies for aircraft and has grown significantly since its inception in 1990.
The decision to build a new facility is said to firmly position the company as a Tier 1 composite supplier within the aerospace industry and provide a catalyst for rapid, sustained growth in supporting its customers with the capacity and capabilities required to meet the challenges of manufacturing the next generation of aircraft.
