The company officially received its bronze award at the A|D|S Taskforce meeting held at the Historic Dockyard, Portsmouth on 7 July 2011.
Managing director, Darren Laughton received the accolade and praised fellow directors Steve Amey and Jason Wyles.
“I was sceptical about SC21 when Steve and Jason first brought the idea to me some three years ago, as I was more interested in developing our technical expertise and capabilities rather than ensuring we provided a complete package of capability, capacity, quality and delivery,” he stated. “It's to their credit they persisted in explaining this is not just a gimmick but a framework that we can adopt to shape our business and develop our infrastructure to service our customers and allow our technical expertise to prosper.”
Already working towards a silver award, the company has fully embraced lean manufacturing principles with 50% of its staff due to receive Business Improvement Techniques NVQ Level 2 by end of July.
