Exhibitor numbers grew in comparison to the year before by more than 50% up to 230 exhibitors. The exhibition surface grew by 51.4% up to 10,600m. International participation grew by 54.5% with the strongest presence coming from the United States at 11.1% of international trade visitors, Poland 10.9%, UK 9.9%, Italy 9.3% and France 9.0%. Airtec's number of meetings increased by 110% regarding the participating OEMs, manufacturers of engines and components as well as also from the exhibitors. Together with a recognisable increase of the exhibitor numbers and the exhibition surface, Airtec says it has further expanded its position as a significant international business and technology meeting place for the aerospace industry. The significance of Airtec for Germany as a high-tech place for aerospace was emphasised by Peter Hintze, Parliamentary Secretary of State in the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and Federal Government Coordinator of Aerospace Affairs, at the inauguration and press conference of Airtec 2012. “This jewel in the crown of the German exhibition landscape sparkles especially this year,” said Hintze, as he pointed out that Airtec offers companies an important platform for the exchange of information and for the networking and promotes the dialogue between the suppliers, the system manufacturers and the customers in the aerospace industry. Airtec 2012 will take place from November 6-8 at the Exhibition Centre Frankfurt, Germany. www.airtec.aero
