Advanced Integration Technology (AIT) says it has been selected by Bombardier to provide tooling for the CSeries aircraft Final Assembly Line (FAL) in its Mirabel, Québec facility.

AIT will deliver automated assembly systems that join the nose and rear fuselages to the centre fuselage, as well as the left- and right-hand wings to the centre wing box. The AIT systems will include a combination of fixtures and automated alignment positioners for the final assembly and subassemblies, such as fuselage sections, wings, engines and fairings, through four automated assembly stations in the FAL. AIT builds flexible alignment and precision positioning systems for large aircraft assembly used in hundreds of installed systems worldwide.

“This contract represents another important vote of confidence from Bombardier in our ability to offer a demonstrated solution for the CSeries aircraft FAL,” said AIT president, Ed Chalupa. “The strength of our expertise with tooling for the final assembly of aircraft, advanced structures and scalable, flexible technology proved essential to Bombardier's choice.”
