Arrowsmith Engineering has been recognised for continued high levels of quality and delivery performance by progressing up to Silver SC21 award level from its previously held Bronze status.

This ongoing commitment to the SC21 programme has helped Arrowsmith complete a five-year plan to increase turnover from £1.8 million to over £4m with 12 months to spare.

The company, which is a member of the Coventry and Warwickshire Aerospace Forum, is also flying high after securing six-figure contracts for engine components with two of aerospace’s global manufacturers.

As well as demonstrating improved levels of Quality and Delivery, Arrowsmith also had to be assessed in SC21 Relationships Excellence (RelEx). RelEx is a framework assessment used to support organisations wishing to drive business results by developing a collaborative working approach with customers using relationship lean tools and techniques.

The RelEx assessment was carried out by SC21 Strategic Partners DB Concept Solutions in September and showed long term, well established relationships exist between Arrowsmith and key suppliers/customers that have, for example, led to several Economical Batch Quantities being agreed to drive costs down. In addition, a business continuity plan has also been tested and approved by Rolls-Royce.

Managing director Jason Aldridge commented: “I’m delighted that the Arrowsmith team has been recognised for their hard work in what is a fast, dynamic and demanding industry.”

The company was presented with the award at the ADS SC21 Task Force meeting held at the Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry on November 8th.
