The specialist precision engineering show, Auto-Aero 2011, has announced further additions to its free seminar programme, together with details of a special show feature highlighting emerging technologies in aerospace among others.

Auto-Aero, part of the popular Southern Manufacturing & Electronics Show (February 16-17, FIVE, Farnborough) is the south's only show dedicated to precision engineering for the aerospace and automotive sector. Along with its co-located sister events Southern Manufacturing and Southern Electronics, Auto Aero is said to attract thousands of visitors every year.

The show organiser, European Trade & Exhibition Services, is predicting that the number of exhibiting companies will pass 600 for the first time in the show's history making it a must-see event for anyone involved with aerospace or automotive engineering.

But there's one more reason why the show should not be missed: Along with an array of engineering suppliers, the show plays hosts to a popular programme of free technical seminars covering both electronics and manufacturing.
The 2011 seminar programme welcomes Dr Phil Reeves, lead consultant with Econolyst and the GTMA, who will deliver a presentation on Additive Layer Manufacturing and how this technology can be used as a solution for production ‘end use' parts. David Hutchins, a Fellow of the Chartered Quality Institute, will examine what lessons can be drawn from the financial crisis, and from Toyota and BP's experiences, about the need to refocus on quality and how that can be achieved.

Mike Harrison of the Farnborough Aerospace Consortium will discuss Supply Chain and SC21 - How to get the best value from purchasing and supply chain improvement in the aerospace and defence industries. EEF, The Manufacturers' Organisation, will suggest ways of embedding sustainable leadership practices to improve bottom-line business performance. Other sessions, all delivered by experts in their particular fields, will address topics such as Lean, CE marking, energy efficiency, managing obsolescence and many others.

For 2011 there is also a special show feature on Emerging Technologies, highlighting areas where UK's expertise in the field of advanced semiconductors and design is leading the world.

Entry to the event is free to business visitors, and FIVE Farnborough offers plentiful free car parking and easy access by road or public transport.
