Help is on hand for businesses in key sectors to prepare for the end of the Brexit transition period. The UK is leaving the EU single market and customs union on Dec 31 and businesses need to get ready for the changes it will bring.

With less than 90 days to go, a series of webinars run by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) will explain what the changes will mean and the actions businesses must take to avoid interruption and enjoy the opportunities the UK’s new relationship with the EU will bring.

The webinars will guide businesses through the changes, which include how to import and export goods, the process for hiring people from the EU, and how to provide services in EU markets.

Business sectors being covered by these webinars are:

  • Services and Investment 13 October

  • Retail 14 October

  • Automotive 14 October

  • Metals and Materials 20 October

  • Electronics and Machinery 21 October

  • Consumer Goods 22 October

  • Life Sciences 27 October

  • Construction 28 October

  • Aerospace 29 October

Register now for a free UK Transition webinar at bit.ly/UKTwebinar and find out what your business needs to do to prepare for new rules from January 2021. The webinars will be recorded and made available on this link for those businesses unable to attend.

Thousands of businesses have attended previous EU Exit seminars and events that BEIS has run over the past two years. Feedback shows participants found the information useful, especially for clarifying areas they were already thinking about and raising awareness of actions not already on their radars. A digital roadshow held in 2019 was found useful by over three-quarters of those who attended.

The government has also launched a quick and easy online transition checker which everybody can use, be it a business or an individual.
