The Boeing Company and AVIC/AIM Altitude have held a signing ceremony and announced they will work together to supply aircraft galley and cabin interiors in China and create more value for airline customers.

Steve Lee, senior director of China supply chain and business development for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Zhu Zhenjun, director general, commercial aircraft, AVIC, and Mark Edwards, CEO of AIM Altitude, signed this memorandum of understanding.

Madam Xiao Jing, director of department of high-tech industry, NDRC; Ian Chang, vice president, China supply chain and business development for Boeing Commercial Airplanes; Justin Franke, director of supplier chain management, Boeing Commercial Aircraft; Pang Zhen, vice president, commercial aircraft, AVIC Commercial Aircraft, AVIC; Wu Guangquan, chairman of AVIC International; Zhang Guangjian, executive vice president of AVIC International; and Xu Tongyu, vice president of AVIC International Aero-Development Corporation (AVICADE), attended and witnessed the signing.

AVIC has a long history of cooperation with Boeing in the field of sub-contracting components manufacture for commercial aircrafts. The two parties signed a MOU at Zhuhai Airshow in 2012 to extend the cooperation into cabin interiors. This new signing is an important step to strengthen and further the cooperative relationships between AVIC and Boeing.

Pang Zhen said: “Aircraft cabin interiors will become a new growth point of the cooperation between AVIC and Boeing. AIM, as an AVIC company, will be closely working with Boeing to supply locally high-quality and competitive products and services for airlines, and to create more value for customers, AVIC, and Boeing.”

Ian Chang said: “Boeing looks forward to jointly exploring more business opportunities with AVIC and AIM in aircraft galley and cabin interiors in the Chinese market. It’s one of a series of cooperative initiatives between us, and will help the Chinese aviation industry to be more competitive in the global market.”
