Bombardier expanding MRO capabilities

Bombardier Aerostructures and Engineering Services has expanded its MRO capabilities in Belfast, UK, to include hydraulic component maintenance and repair.

The MRO operation based in Northern Ireland now offers full inspection, testing, repair and overhaul of individual hydraulic components and hydraulic assemblies for Bombardier, Airbus and Boeing aircraft.

“We are keen to build on over 50 years’ experience in providing MRO services, and are delighted to be able to further expand our capabilities into hydraulics repair with a dedicated team of specialist technicians,” said Stephen Addis, vice-president, programmes, customer services and business

development at Bombardier’s Northern Ireland operations.

“The development of this hydraulics repair capability allows us to offer a more comprehensive aftermarket service to our customers, which is complementary to our current service offering, and now includes a full nacelle thrust reverser repair service provided in-house.”

Bombardier’s MRO services in Belfast already offer an extensive range of aftermarket services. These include component repair and overhaul of engine nacelles, flight control surfaces, landing gear and electrical harnessing, as well as technical support, modification and repair development, inspection and testing, parts exchange or lease, and mobile repair assistance.
