Calder Group announces new precision engineering division

Calder Group announces new precision engineering division

Calder Group has launched Calder Precision Engineering, a wholly-owned division, integrating the knowledge, capability, capacity and technologies from its three precision engineering businesses: Midland Aerospace, Helander Precision Engineering and Leeds Bronze Engineering.

“The decision to unite the companies under one umbrella reflects the greater agility that can be achieved from integrating their incredible resources and thus enhance the value we can bring our customers,” commented Tim Pryce, the CEO of Calder Precision Engineering.

Calder Precision’s experienced new leadership team is already driving considerable cultural change to make sure customer needs are met across the spectrum, from an engineering and a business perspective.

“Creating greater value for our customers has always been an essential element of a successful business,” explained Pryce. “By removing the boundaries across the three entities and creating an expansive culture, where new technologies are introduced, Calder Precision is able to generate significant strategic value for all stakeholders.

“Our focus is on listening to and engaging with customers, so we understand all barriers to success, whether they are technical or commercial or buried in poor legacy business practice.”

Richard Williams, Chief Operating Officer, added: “We have some amazingly talented people with decades of knowledge and learning capability. The new structure, underpinned by an inclusive and learning culture, enables our people to thrive, across a combined customer base.

“Existing and new customers will also see significant investment as we embrace a range of technologies to help solve the challenges faced by many of our customers. Aligned with the division’s collective ingenuity, this means we can focus on bringing about total solutions – whether that is programming, machining, surface technology or through optimising distribution networks and supply chains or commercial practicality.”

Another key benefit of Calder Precision Engineering is that it provides a very high level of security to its customers’ supply chain, backed by the investment and experience of Calder Group. As Iain Clarkson, CFO of Calder Group, observed: “The leadership team at Calder Precision Engineering is making impressive strides forward in creating value for our customers. It is an exciting time for all those involved across the Calder Group.”
