Crane Electronics celebrates 50th anniversary

After starting out as a small UK-based company, Crane Electronics says it is celebrating its 50th anniversary as a truly global company.

With head offices based in Hinckley and Illinois in the US, Crane has also established long-term partnerships throughout the world.

Crane Electronics was established on November 4th, 1971 by its founder David Crane, at his home in Twycross, before moving to larger factory premises shortly after in Stoke Golding, Leicestershire. This was Crane’s home until the early 90s before moving to Hinckley, where it expanded further into larger premises in 2003.

Over the years, Crane Electronics has created and introduced a series of important products into the torque measurement industry, from the world’s first ‘smart’ transducers in the 1970s, the revolutionary CheckStar rotary torque transducers in the 1980s, the innovative TorqueStar data collectors through the 90s, to the current digital torque wrenches.

Today, Crane Electronics works alongside some of the world’s biggest manufacturing brands in a wide range of industries. With a diverse product range and first-class service, Crane delivers complete torque management, measurement and control solutions to help manufacturers improve their quality, safety and traceability and to increase productivity.

The enthusiasm and dedication of its employees over the last 50 years has enabled Crane to provide flexible solutions and an individual service to its customers. Crane’s current product range includes torque wrenches, transducers, data collectors, torque testers, analysers and complete system software packages. The company says this positions the company as a go-to solutions provider for tool capability assessment, process capability assessment and control, and process verification.
