DSEi to host new opportunities for industry suppliers

From 13-16 September 2011, DSEi will be staged in London to demonstrate how the global defence and security industry is responding to the diverse portfolio of threats facing virtually all nations.

From 13-16 September 2011, the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEi) exhibition will be staged at ExCeL in London to demonstrate how the global defence and security industry is responding to the diverse portfolio of threats facing virtually all nations.

Showcasing new and established products and technologies for land, sea and air applications, as well as maintaining its focus on platforms and equipment, DSEi will also provide a highly influential forum for advances in critical technology areas such as intelligence gathering and communications.

Organiser, Clarion Events, is mounting a campaign to attract budget holding delegations from both established and emerging defence and security spenders. This, together with features such as onsite facilities for government procurement agencies and new technology demonstration zones will, it claims, make DSEi 2011 the most effective sales platform yet for suppliers around the world.

DSEi is a truly international event. To date 30 countries have reserved national pavilion space, including Brazil, France, Germany, India, Italy, Poland, Russia, South Africa, Sweden, Turkey, UK and USA. Institutions such as the NATO Maintenance and Supply Agency (NAMSA), and the UK MoD will also be basing themselves at DSEi to engage with industry.

The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will also have a prominent presence and exhibiting companies will be able to match their capabilities against the Department's extensive requirements' list of products and technologies.

DSEi 2011 will provide an unprecedented level of opportunity for exhibitors to demonstrate their equipment. New features will include the largest indoor unmanned vehicle and robotics demonstration zone in Europe; land, sea and air static display areas; and a security demonstration area. The Innovation Showcase will again provide a popular forum for companies from multinationals to SMEs to present their latest ideas to influential audiences, while the British Army Export Support team will be demonstrating new capabilities in an innovative environment. Visitors seeking the latest electronics solutions will find many of these grouped in the International Electronics Pavilion.

Many companies, especially SMEs, exhibit at DSEi to access the supply chains of the international prime contractors. To help these exhibitors obtain maximum value from their investment, the event organisers are working with industry to create delegations that will engage with SMEs on a pre-arranged basis.

“DSEi is internationally recognised for showcasing the latest defence and security products and technologies,” said DSEi exhibition director, Duncan Reid. “The event is now increasingly perceived to be a valuable meeting ground where representatives of governments, militaries and industry can discuss everything from bilateral agreements to major individual programmes. DSEi 2011 will be at the hub of the international defence and security scene.”
