Electrified Automation technology ready for take-off

A growing number of companies are exploring how electric motors can enable the aerospace industry to transition to zero emission aircraft - and not just for powering the engine, but right across the aircraft platform.

This is creating growing demand and a market where Electrified Automation is already helping companies increase their manufacturing capabilities and boost productivity.

Managing director, Jim Winchester said: “We have a proven track record in the automotive market and are finding that the same technology is a really good fit for aerospace as well. At the moment we are working with several aerospace customers whose requirements are increasing month-on-month.”

Electrified Automation has developed technology that automates coil-winding, magnet placement and production test equipment, which can be used across a number of different types of aircraft, including unmanned and commercial aircraft. The company says its technology is providing automation solutions for customers that significantly improve their manufacturing process, boosting productivity on a massive scale. The automated technology not only responds to the unique manufacturing challenges required of aircraft components, it also helps improve safety and performance.

“What we offer is bespoke technology combined with our knowledge, insights and learning from the automotive sector, which also has stringent testing and safety standards,” added Winchester. “The manufacturing techniques we have developed are well-suited to high powered permanent magnet motors that have concentrated coil-windings, so our technology has great synergy with the requirements of the aerospace industry.”
