A fleet of aerospace companies have made a flying-start to the year after seeing turnover in 2017 take off to new levels.

Coventry and Warwickshire Aerospace Forum (CWAF) – which boasts 13 engineering and manufacturing businesses that service global aerospace customers - recorded an average growth of 20% in turnover in 2017, adding £13 million revenue to the collective £65 million turnover generated in 2016.

Following on from this success, CWAF has received assistance through the European Regional Development Fund from Coventry City Council’s Business Support Programme.

It’s being used to raise the profile of CWAF and will fund the group’s presence at this year’s Farnborough Airshow, enabling members to strike new business deals and promote Coventry and Warwickshire manufacturing to an international market.

Jason Aldridge, chairman of CWAF said: “As members of the 2021 bid club we believe that Coventry’s UK City of Culture status is fantastic news for the area economically with an influx of visitors, and although we have three years to go until 2021, we as a group can begin to capitalise on the attention when looking to attract highly-skilled workers and securing new orders at places such as the Farnborough Airshow.”
