Corsham-based Gewefa UK, has secured its biggest single order for grinding arbors, along with a large quantity of collet chucks for use with newly commissioned Magerle MFP 100 high productivity grinding and milling centres. The Gewefa order – comprising 600 individual toolholders in total – is for use when finish machining critical aero engine components and comprises 400 ‘Grindtec’ grinding arbors with HSK80 tapers along with collet chucks to accommodate the machines’ integrated milling and drilling functions. The Magerle MFP 100 is characterised by its high working speed, fast tool change and its expandable tool changer. It is specially designed for applications where multi-face machining of heavy and complex workpieces in just a single clamping operation is demanded. With 50kW spindle power and a generously designed working area, the centre is ideally suited for processing turbine guides and rotor blades as well as heat shields for use in the aviation and energy industries. It features an integrated tool changer which can be equipped with grinding wheels of differing diameters and grades as well as the metalcutting toolholders. The toolholder specification required a robust construction to guarantee wide machining contours with high material removal rates. The Gewefa Grindtec arbors are part of a comprehensive range of arbors, toolholders and accessories available from Gewefa specifically for grinding applications. www.gewefa.co.uk Mike Richardson Tags Gewefa collet chucks grinding arbors Tooling Share This Article Tweet Share Share Share Subscribe to our FREE Newsletter Further Articles PRI announces 2020 Beijing Nadcap meeting SABIC deliver material technologies across the AM value chain Oerlikon partners with ULA to make AM launch vehicle flight parts Most recent Articles Team Cutting Tools keeps you UP2DATE with latest developments PRI announces 2020 Beijing Nadcap meeting SABIC deliver material technologies across the AM value chain Share This Article Tweet Share Share Share Subscribe to our FREE Newsletter
