Aero-engine parts supplier lands new deal worth £25 million

The six programmes include providing parts for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner’s Trent 1000 engine, while another is for a PW815 engine for 100 seater aircraft.

The deal initially came about at last year’s Farnborough Airshow where ANT Industries shared a stand with the Coventry and Warwickshire Aerospace Forum (CWAF) which was part funded by Coventry City Council.

CWAF is a group of engineering and manufacturing businesses in the aerospace sector that work together to support the industry.

Shaun Rowley, managing director of ANT Industries, said: “This is a significant deal for our business and will secure jobs in both our business and our supply chain. Like many businesses in the aerospace industry we are seeing further opportunities due to the continuing growth in the global aerospace market.

“As a result we have made substantial investments in capital equipment and in research and development to give us a competitive advantage, which has undoubtedly helped us to win this order. We operate in the high value added end of the market where some of our manufactured parts can take up to 30 man hours to complete. This deal will enable us to grow the business further and enables even more investment in new technologies and in our people.”

ANT Industries are also members of CWAF, and forum chairman Jason Aldridge believes the deal is a real boost for the Midlands.

Aldridge said: “To see our members involved in these types of deals is fantastic for the region, and shows how important Midlands aerospace businesses are to the global aerospace industry. Not only does this help to secure and create jobs for ANT Industries, it will have a knock-on effect and secure other jobs in the industry as well. CWAF is all about identifying opportunities to support our niche aerospace firms in the Midlands, so we are hopeful that deals of this type will open the door to other opportunities for our other members.”
