Good growth expected in Paris for JEC World 2017

From March 14-16, JEC World will once more move into two halls of the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center for three days of networking and knowledge sharing among composites professionals and new users.

Frédérique Mutel, president and CEO of JEC Composites

“Innovation is at the centre of the show,” stated Frédérique Mutel, JEC Group president & CEO. “Incremental or disruptive innovation in composites makes the success of JEC World. The new paradigms of our century are lightness, resistance, flexibility, customisation and cycle acceleration. Composites meet this quest. During the last twelve months, we have worked hard to analyse end-users’ requirements. We have shaped the show to facilitate the interaction between the composites industry and the final market. New populations such as architects, creators, developers, designers and style engineers, should join. Consequently, we expect a significant growth for JEC World 2017.”

Following the success of the ‘Planets’ that appeared last year in the show, JEC World is bringing them back in even bigger areas with brand new parts and new end-users focuses. Attendees will rediscover the AERO Planet (sponsored by Huntsman) and the AUTO Planet (sponsored by Hexion, KDX, and UBC - Crosslink), and discover two new Planets: the BUILDING Planet and the BETTER LIVING Planet that will include composites parts that are and will improve people’s everyday life. Concerning the building market, during the show, JEC Group publishes the first book ever issued on Composites Solutions in Construction.

The exclusive gathering of top level producers, manufacturers and users of composites in the automotive industry will take place on the second day of the show. The by-invitation-only presentations and networking session will highlight the topic: “The collaborative process in the automotive Industry, learning experience from the State of Michigan”. Renowned speakers from The Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Faurecia, Ford Research & Innovation Center, IACMI, Leichtbau, Continental Structural Plastics or Bcomp will take the stage to exchange a few ideas. Also, Leilani Münter of Electric GT Pilot, will give a speech.

The Automotive Composites Circle is sponsored by The Michigan Economic Development Corporation and Pure Michigan.

During the three days of the event, six conferences involving 53 speakers from around the world will provide the latest content on the composites Industry. Three of them will be dedicated to end-using markets: Aeronautics: Multiscale Modelling for Behavioral Predictions; Current Trends in the Automotive Industry; Composites as a Worthy Alternative to Traditional Materials in the Construction Industry. The conferences are sponsored by Altair.

“We are very confident with JEC World 2017 session as the show floor has been fully booked for weeks and registration figures are increasing compared to 2016 which was already an exceptional session,” said Anne Manuèle Hebert, JEC World’s show director. “There are so many events not be missed during JEC World such as the new STARTUP BOOSTER programme on day 1, the JEC Innovation Awards Ceremony on day 2 with keynote speaker Thomas Coville, new solo round-the-world record on maxi trimaran and many other special events. Three days will be hardly enough to cover JEC World 2017 and its very complete offer.”
