Helitech expands by 10% reflecting optimistic industry outlook

Helitech International will return to the RAI Amsterdam Exhibition and Convention Centre this October with a 10% larger exhibition – providing rotorcraft professionals with access to even more innovation, new product launches and networking opportunities.

More than 150 companies from across the world will be present at the free-to-attend exhibition including leading OEMs Bell, Leonardo, Airbus and Kopter (formerly Marenco), with 18 new companies joining the line-up for the first time in 2018 including Thales, VR Technologies, GHS, Semmco, Luminator and TracPlus Global.

Speaking about Helitech International 2018, Robert Squire, director of Thales Certus at Thales, said: “We’re excited to showcase Thales FlytLINK at Helitech. FlytLINK is our newest satcoms connectivity solution which will run on the Iridium Certus network of 66 satellites. Its hardware kit is lighter and smaller than equivalent geostationary systems – a major benefit in airframes where every bit of space and weight must be prioritized for maximum time in-air and on-scene. It also works perfectly under the rotor blades. We’re looking forward for people to see it in person at the show.”

The announcement follows news that the rotorcraft industry is set to continue its solid upward trajectory, demonstrating its recovery from the economic slowdown in recent years. The Global Civil Helicopter Market Research Report Forecast to 2023 reveals a positive outlook through the number of orders and new aircraft in what continues to be a highly competitive, evolving landscape.

Teresa Heitor, event manager, Helitech International, said: “Expanding the show by 10% in 2018 is not only a reflection of the optimism being seen across the industry. It also represents a step change for Helitech International as we look to increase the focus on innovation and showcase the new products and services emerging from the growing rotorcraft industry. We’re delighted to welcome numerous new exhibitors to the show in 2018, and welcome back the industry’s leading OEMs to celebrate the industry’s successes and set the agenda for the industry of tomorrow.”
