As an expanding sector, the aerospace industry is responsible for creating employment in a fascinating hi-tech field and over the next few years will offer many jobs for well qualified personnel.

However, despite the situation on the employment market, there is a shortage of specialist staff. According to recent findings by the Association of German Engineers (VDI), there are vacancies for some 1,200 engineers in aviation and space technology alone.

It is against this background that the ILA 2010, held between 8-13 June at the Berlin-Schönefeld Airport, has particular significance in the efforts to attract newcomers to the industry. The two-day ILA CareerCenter, on 11-12 June, is aimed at everyone who is considering a career in the aerospace sector.

For pupils, students, newcomers to the industry or experienced specialists, the CareerCenter in Hall 6 offers all of them an opportunity of obtaining wide-ranging information about career prospects, and they can also make direct contact here with future employers. The patron of the CareerCenter is Germany's Federal Minister of Economics and Technology, Rainer Brüderle.
