Ceratizit’s KUB Pentron CS indexable insert drill from Komet provides a single operation, process-secure and high-performance drilling solution for bores up to 96mm diameter.

To meet a growing customer demand for this range of hole sizes, the KUB Pentron CS is now part of the Ceratizit standard range and available from stock for next day delivery.

The insert drill is equipped with an advantageous cartridge system that has proven its worth over many years in numerous industries. However, the standard tools were limited to a diameter range of 14 to 46mm, limiting their application, particularly where larger holes (e.g. for bearing seats), where the reliability and high-performance of the KUB Pentron system would be advantageous.

This demand from customers led Ceratizit to develop the KUB Pentron CS (CS = Cartridge Solution) for large diameters up to 96mm, with a length to diameter ratio of up to 3xD.

The KUB Pentron CS system is modular in design, making it suitable for universal use and for many special applications.

The drills consist of a burnished, wear-resistant KUB Pentron base holder manufactured to the exacting standards customers are accustomed to from the Komet brand.

This features the proven Komet ABS system for the coupling, as it offers significant advantages compared to other interfaces, such as the cylindrical shank, especially for large holes.

These advantages include a higher clamping force and torsional stiffness, as well as better values with regard to force transmission, accuracy and machining performance. Two, high-precision cartridge seats are located in the base body, with the inner cartridge able to cover a specific diameter range, with the outer cartridge determining the bore diameter. Each cartridge contains two SOGX indexable inserts from the wide selection available in the Ceratizit standard portfolio.
