M.A. Ford Europe achieves ISO 9001 accreditation

A two-year long process of updating, enhancing and implementing the quality systems at M.A. Ford Europe has resulted in the company being awarded the ISO 9001:2008 quality assurance accreditation.

Following the acquisition of Ashton Tools by M.A. Ford Europe, which subsequently became the company’s custom tools division and technical development centre, the management team set about upgrading all the systems with the goal achieving the ISO 9001 standard.

Although the company already had exceptional quality and manufacturing standards, the support systems and procedures needed to be improved, while ensuring the same systems and procedures were uniform at both the Leeds and Derby sites.

Following the early appointment of Massi Boscolo as quality manager to oversee the entire quality management transition, the company then invested in an ERP solution, which has been at the core of the quality management, manufacturing and administration processes across the entire business.

M.A. Ford Europe’s managing director, David Ward, explained: “This is an excellent achievement for us as a business and a personal triumph for our quality manager, Massi. He has worked tirelessly to create and implement a world class solution with the support of everyone in the company which brings together two separate aspects of our business under a single quality standard.”

He added: “The quality processes and procedures have brought a range of benefits to us, as well as our customers and we’re already working to revise the systems to ISO 9001:2015.”
