Marshall Aerospace employee receives MBE

Howard Crabb, production manager, UK defence services for Marshall Aerospace, has been honoured in The Queen's New Year's Honours list.

Crabb, who joined Marshall Aerospace in 1973 as an apprentice aircraft fitter, was awarded an MBE for his services to the defence industry.

Sir Michael Marshall, CEO and chairman of the Marshall Group, commented: “What a fantastic start to 2011 - we are all extremely delighted that Howard's work for Marshall has been recognised in this way. He is an exceptional manager, and he also devotes much of his spare time to charitable and community work.”

On hearing of his MBE, Crabb commented: “I had a letter about a month ago to say my name had been put forward. I'm overwhelmed and honoured to be receiving this prestigious award. I think defence aerospace is a challenging and rewarding career, and my role within Marshall Aerospace has enabled me to support the RAF – of which I am particularly proud.”
