Meggitt signs up to UN’s Race to Zero campaign

Meggitt has signed up to the UN’s Race to Zero campaign, committing to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050 at the latest.

Race to Zero is a global initiative led by the UN to rally leadership and support from businesses, cities, regions and investors for a zero carbon economy that drives inclusive, sustainable growth.

Measures to help Meggitt to reach net zero carbon emissions will include investing in new technology to ensure that the Company’s products play a leading role in the carbon transition of its end-customers.

Meggitt will also work across its supply chain, supporting the setting of targets and reducing the emissions associated with their activities, as well as reducing its own energy use through efficiency measures and process improvements.

Tony Wood, chief executive of Meggitt said: “Meggitt wants to be at the forefront of change as our end-customers enter a period of transition and innovation to support a zero-carbon future.  We fully support the UN and its Race To Zero initiatives, sustainability goals and aspirations.”
