Andrew Barnett, chief technology officer at Barnbrook Systems, has been appointed membership chairman at Farnborough Aerospace Consortium (FAC)

, founded in 1997, is a not-for-profit association which provides support for more than 300 members in the South of the UK, including many in Hampshire.

Barnbrook Systems has been a leading FAC member for many years with its managing director Tony Barnett on the board. The Fareham-based company will be among the businesses with exhibitors’ pods in Hall One of the UK Pavilion at this year’s Farnborough International Airshow in July 2016.

Barnett said: “I am looking forward to helping more businesses benefit from membership of the consortium and the success it can bring. Membership of the FAC enables access to national and international prime contractors, and medium and small sized firms. By boosting membership numbers, activity and engagement we become a stronger organisation for all involved.”

He added: “Farnborough International Airshow is one of the major dates on the FAC’s calendar to champion its members and help them win business in a global marketplace.”

FAC’s members include national and international primes, medium and small sized firms, and several world leading aviation research centres.

FAC membership also includes access to the Supply Chain in the 21st Century (SC21) initiative, global marketing opportunities, attendance at exhibitions at cost saving prices, access to a tailored events programme, networking and inclusion in the FAC directory.
