Merc Engineering acquires Stanworth Engineers

Merc Engineering UK has announced the recent share purchase of Stanworth Engineers.


Stanworth Engineers has become the third company in the Merc Group and brings with it a team of highly-skilled engineers and aerospace customer base. The company employs 30 people with a sales turnover of £1.5 million. Stanworth Engineers has operated from its Burnley premises for over 40 years as a manufacturer of high precision components and assemblies for the aerospace industry. Bringing Stanworth into the Merc Group will see employee numbers rise to 130 and group turnover increase to nearly £9 million. The combined resource will allow Merc to service larger packages of work in the aerospace, defence & power generation sectors. Managing director of the Group, Les Nuttall said: “Bringing Stanworth Engineers into the Merc Group is a fantastic move for us. The team at Stanworth has a wealth of engineering knowledge and we are very much looking forward to working with them to develop the business over the next twelve months.” John Stanworth will remain in the business as operations director, supported by Nuttall and other Merc directors. www.merceng.co.uk
