A new look for the International Supplier Center ISC at ILA

At ILA 2018 (25-29 April) one of the highlights will be provided by the International Supplier Center ISC. This is the B2B market place for the international aviation industry, for suppliers as well as for systems firms.

The ISC management has been augmented by a project team from the nationwide Supply Chain Excellence Initiative, with the aim of giving this format an even more international dimension. At a time of far-reaching structural changes, the 14 associations and organisations that make up this initiative are lending their support to companies in the aviation supply industry in order to further improve the global competitiveness of the aerospace sector in Germany.

The presence of over 300 exhibitors and the more than 1,000 intended B2B discussions at the International Supplier Center ISC provide a good opportunity for furthering these objectives during the three trade visitors’ days at the ILA.

Dr. Klaus Richter, president of the BDLI and patron of the Supply Chain Excellence Initiative, said: “The International Supplier Center ISC is the strategic hub for global supply chain and business development at the ILA Berlin Air Show. It provides valuable business opportunities for suppliers and buyers and ensures fast, efficient access to potential customers. I strongly encourage all companies interested in the aerospace supply chain to join us at the ISC.

The Supply Chain Excellence Initiative applies its expertise to all of the subject areas covered by the ISC. These include addressing international buyers and exhibitors, on-site matchmaking and a supporting programme that is being expanded in 2018 to include such new elements as an ISC market place as a networking platform, and an SME Hour with pitch presentations by exhibitors. Members of the Supply Chain Excellence Initiative project team will be on hand to assist participants at the event. The BDLI and Messe Berlin continue to be the main organisers of the ISC.

For potential customers and partners the ISC is therefore the first point of contact when engaging in discussions with supplier companies. Almost half of those attending are from outside Germany. As in 2016 buyers from OEMs such as Airbus, Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Sukhoi as well as first-tier suppliers including Diehl, Liebherr Aerospace, MTU and Rockwell Collins are expected to attend.
