Nikon Metrology and MSL announce new UK partnership

MSL and Nikon Metrology have announced their new sales partnership and mutual approach in providing state-of-the art 3D laser scanning solutions within the UK.

As an official partner of Nikon Metrology, one of the leading manufacturers of metrology and quality inspection equipment, MSL will promote the distribution and sales of Nikon’s class-leading automated 3D laser scanning solutions. An outcome of this new partnership means that MSL will now also be in a position to provide retrofits alongside Metrolog X4 and Silma X4 through utilising the Metrolog Controller and the latest Renishaw 5-axis measurement technology.

With over 25 years’ experience, MSL brings a wealth of engineering experience to metrology, combining tools and software from leading manufacturers to create integrated systems for organisational workflows across many applications in a diverse range of sectors.

The Nikon Metrology and MSL partnership brings together two companies sharing a single goal of providing unparalleled metrology technology and support to customers, providing the most appropriate solutions for practically any application imaginable. The root of this partnership is MSL’s vast experience and deep knowledge of 3D metrology equipment and the professional service they provide for their customers.

Robert Greenbank, Industrial Metrology and Services Manager at MSL said: “The chance to work with Nikon Metrology was an obvious one for the Industrial Metrology division at MSL, we believe that Nikon Metrology have almost certainly the best laser scanner on the market for CMMs today.

A key focus for MSL Industrial Metrology this year is to increase the number of retrofits we provide and therefore the aim of our division is to assist our customers, protect them from obsolescence and increase their throughput. We believe that with our ability to now provide Nikon Laser Scanning solutions we can really move this forward.”

Callum Williams-York, European Account Manager – Laser Scanner Business Unit EU added: “Working in the UK Metrology market I have always been aware of the professional service MSL provides. I am very excited to start this partnership with MSL, as they have the technical and commercial expertise to supply the UK’s CMM market with retrofits of Nikons CMM laser scanners.”

This new collaboration will allow MSL customers to accelerate their quality inspection, with Nikon’s pioneering and class-leading 3D laser scanners. Whether fully automated or operated manually, these laser scanners provide rapid digitisation of parts by optically capturing millions of high-precision points, reducing inspection time, and offering greater insight for applications such as dimensional metrology and reverse engineering.
