The new Furnace Brazing Theory Assessment developed by the PRI Qualification program will assess knowledge and understanding of industry best practices for furnace brazing processes.
This includes specific requirements related to the brazing of various metal types and covers both vacuum and non-vacuum brazing procedures. The assessment results in a Planner level qualification and is recommended for those who are supervising the furnace brazing activity in their facility.
“As the Chair of the PRI Qualification Brazing Review Board, I have been directly involved with the creation of the PRI Qualification Furnace Brazing Planner Assessment. I completed the assessment myself and it is a robust and challenging test which will provide companies like mine with an excellent tool to validate the competency of the teams running their furnace brazing operations” said Joshua Crockett, heat treat & braze engineer at Bodycote Surface Technologies and chair of the PRI Qualification Brazing Review Board.
PRI Qualification assessments are based on the PRI Qualification Bodies of Knowledge, detailed documents that capture current industry expectations for personnel performing a range of aerospace manufacturing roles.
Assessments are developed for use by aerospace organizations to be flexible and to fit the unique needs of each of them, including:
