Revolutionising the commercial space sector

Experts and innovators from across the space sector supply chain are invited to meet at Space-Comm Expo, taking place 7-8 September 2022 at Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre.

Brought to the industry by leading organisers Hub Exhibitions, in partnership with the aerospace events experts at Farnborough International, Space-Comm Expo is the only UK-based exhibition dedicated to showcasing and sharing insight on the commercial future of space for business, defence and aerospace.

Building on the resounding success from the 2021 event, which saw 1,000 delegates per day attend under Covid-19 Government guidelines, Space-Comm Expo will demonstrate the technologies, partners and policy required and showcase the manufacturing supply chain for products, services and solutions available to support commercial enterprises and developments in space. Positioned at the forefront of the space industry, Space-Comm Expo is supported by ADS, KTN, UK Space Agency, ESA and UK Space.

Rob Sherwood, managing director of Hub Exhibitions, commented: “With the UK contributing 6.5% of the global space market, and ambitions to grow this to 10% by 2030, Space-Comm Expo is a vital opportunity for the aerospace, technology, and Government to convene, develop and do businesses.”

The event brings professionals and experts across the aerospace industry and wider ecosystem, such as agriculture, defence, fintech, mining and telecommunications, together to build long-lasting commercial and intellectual partnerships.

Discussing the need for Space-Comm Expo, Nik Smith, regional director UK & Europe at Lockheed Martin said: “Having Space-Comm Expo now, at this time, has been incredibly important as we try to move forward in the space sector, so we can network again, meet again and more importantly, collaborate.”

A new staple in the space industry calendar, Space-Comm Expo 2022 is anticipated to be 65% larger than the 2021 launch, with aerospace leaders and technology providers, including Airbus, BAE Systems, CGI, In-Space Missions, Kayhan Space, Rolls-Royce, Raytheon UK and Space Florida, exhibiting across the two-day event. More than 35% of the businesses exhibiting at the event are international, with 20% of the show floor from the US alone.

The pioneering exhibition includes over 100 industry-leading organisations and the opportunity to take part in 1-2-1 meetings with key suppliers and partners.

Christie Day, Group event director at Hub Exhibitions added: “We are thrilled to see the return of established aerospace businesses, as well as growing SMEs, to the exhibitor floor, as well as a programme of innovators and specialists take part in our conference seminars throughout the show. We have increased our show space by 65%, so the demand from the industry for this event is clear.”

Space-Comm Expo features a world-class speaker programme of over 90 space experts and Government officials across three themed theatres. With over 30 hours of content, Space-Comm Expo’s agenda sets the tone for the future of the commercial space industry, previously welcoming the likes of Lisa Campbell, president of the Canadian Space Agency; Carl Warren, Biomass chief engineer, Earth Observation and Science of Airbus Defence and Space and Melanie Stricklan, CEO of Slingshot Aerospace.

Joe Muir, aerospace commercial director at Farnborough International, added: “We are at a pivotal junction for the space industry, with new innovations and pioneering businesses entering the market to support the commercialisation of the sector. Space-Comm Expo provides a platform to the industry to drive the industry forward, accelerating vital conversations and showcasing the future-altering technology that will enable businesses, and the sector, to grow.”
