See the latest in materials testing

Engineers have the opportunity to see the very latest in inspection technologies when the Materials Testing exhibition opens its doors later this month.

The event, which is the premier international showcase for the non-destructive testing (NDT), condition monitoring and diagnostic engineering industries, will take place from 13-15 September at the International Centre in Telford, UK.

Materials Testing 2011 will feature more than 60 exhibitors from countries including China and the US along with a programme of seminars. The event is free of charge for visitors, and those who register in advance online will be given a £5 voucher that can be redeemed in the exhibition's café.

Simon Griffiths, chief executive of the West Midlands Manufacturing Advisory Service, will be speaking on the importance of quality and testing for manufacturers and giving some examples of how investing in quality can drive a business forward.

Materials Testing 2011 will run alongside NDT 2011, the annual conference of the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT). To commemorate BINDT's 50th year, the exhibition will include a historical display of NDT through the years.

John Hansen, chairman of the organising committee, said: “NDT has an increasingly important role to play in ensuring public safety and helping industry to maximise efficiency by extending the life of plant and equipment. Materials Testing is a valuable opportunity for both practitioners and NDT users to exchange ideas and view the latest tools and techniques from around the world.”
