Siemens appoints head of UK aerospace

Siemens has focused on strengthening its offer to the UK aerospace market with the appointment of a new head of UK aerospace: Steve Jones.

In his role, Jones will drive the implementation of Siemens’ strategy for the UK Aerospace sector, assisted by a team of three executives. His responsibilities will include working with existing strategic customers on the specification of Siemens’ industrial technology solutions, as well as developing relationships with new corporate partner companies.

He is also tasked with representing Siemens within wider aerospace sector forums, including the Aerospace Growth Partnership where he already sits on the manufacturing working group committee.

Jones commented: “I am delighted to have been asked to head up the Siemens UK & Ireland Aerospace sector team. Siemens has a long standing presence within this important sector and this will continue as we seek to enhance our technology and service offering so our aerospace clients continually benefit from optimised manufacturing performance and increased productivity.

“The acknowledged and growing importance of digitalisation and automation as strategic tools to unlock operational efficiencies and drive productivity gains means we are well placed to offer the type and range of solutions that the highly competitive aerospace industry is seeking.”

Steve Jones has more than 25 years of experience in engineering, with more than 12 years at Siemens. He previously held the role of key account manager for UK aerospace at Siemens.
