Socomore expands surface products range

Socomore expands surface products range

Socomore has now added two new product ranges to its aerospace offering: PreKote products for pre-treatment and promotion of paint adhesion, and DISCOVERT products for degreasing surfaces.

These products, available in liquid and wipes, are environmentally-friendly and help to improve processes in aerospace manufacturing and maintenance operations.

Meanwhile, Pantheon Chemical, Inc. and Groupe Socomore concluded an agreement where Pantheon sold the rights to its PreKote product line for worldwide sales within the aerospace industry to Socomore.

Aerospace customers and all trade licensees will benefit from the consolidated expertise, customer support network and distribution footprint of both companies in this strategic agreement. Pantheon will continue to manufacture all products for Socomore through a toll manufacturing agreement and further develop PreKote distribution and support channels in all non-aerospace markets.

“We’re excited about the opportunity to leverage the scale and resources of Socomore to expand PreKote’s position in the market,” said Laura Roberts, Founder and CEO of Pantheon. “We believe this partnership will be mutually beneficial for both companies as well as our customers.”

Pantheon is known for its long-standing work in developing, manufacturing and commercialising sustainable products for multiple industries including aerospace. It specialises in metalworking fluids, surface pre-treatments, cleaners, lubricants and disinfectants.

“With the PreKote acquisition complementing our current solgel offering, we are pleased to support our customers and the aerospace market with a complete range of chrome free metallic surface pre-treatment solutions before painting in both manufacturing or maintenance operations,” said Frédéric Lescure, CEO of Socomore.

Socomore has acquired the aerospace business of the French company Disco-Lab, based in Châteauroux. DISCOVERT products, which include surface degreasers and paint removers, are complementary to Socomore products and are qualified and used by a growing number of aerospace companies. Plant-based, these products are part of a range of greener solutions that are less toxic for the environment and safer for users. The DISCOVERT brand is increasingly recognized for its safer CMR free and non-hazardous products that make processes more environmentally friendly by reducing VOC emissions.

The Socomore and Disco-Lab teams are working together to transfer the manufacture of DISCOVERT products to Socomore, with the objective of being able to manufacture and ship these products from the Socomore plant in Elven by the end of 2019.

These acquisitions are part of Socomore’s development strategy. Our ambition is to continue to design, manufacture and promote high value-added solutions for our customers worldwide. As our main market and development is focused on the aerospace market, Socomore has bought only the aerospace business, leaving Pantheon and Disco-Lab to continue to supply and develop other markets.
