The scope of this accreditation covers the heat-treating of seamless precision metallic tubes made in Samer (northern France) of Nickel and Cobalt Alloys, Austenitic Stainless Steels and Titanium Alloys. Typical applications include hydraulic and pneumatic ducting systems for aircrafts.
Emmanuel Lenarduzzi, quality manager and metalwork expert at Specitubes, said: “Intermediate heat-treatment is dedicated to giving ductility to the material in order to be able to perform another step of cold-working. Final heat-treatment is necessary to fix the tube’s mechanical properties to meet some specific customer requirements, depending on the application.”
Joe Pinto, executive vice president and chief operating officer at the Performance Review Institute, added: “Achieving Nadcap accreditation is not easy: it is one of the ways in which the aerospace industry identifies those who excel at manufacturing quality product through superior special processes. Companies such as Specitubes work hard to obtain this status and they should be justifiably proud of it.
“PRI is proud to support continual improvement in the aerospace industry by helping companies such as SPECITUBES be successful and we look forward to continuing to assist the industry moving forward.”
