Today's World Standard Day is intended to raise awareness of how important standards and uniform regulations can be. Standards and certifications are probably more important in the aerospace industry than any other.

"As one of the leading aerospace supply chain specialists, we have especially high demands on quality, safety and delivery reliability. For this reason, we continuously improve and harmonise our global quality management system so that we can offer our customers worldwide the same standards for the products and services we supply. At the same time, we guarantee to meet all safety criteria," explained Torben Bunk, global head of quality at thyssenkrupp Aerospace.

Together with his team, Torben Bunk was again able to secure certification according to the EN/AS 9100 and 9120 standards this year. These are the basis of a quality management system in the aerospace industry and guarantee customers the highest quality of services and products. The latest example of the continuous expansion of the global quality management system is thyssenkrupp Autômata. The Brazilian site has fulfilled all the necessary criteria to obtain EN 9120 certification in addition to the existing EN 9100 certification. Thyssenkrupp Autômata is thus the first company in South America to receive EN 9120 certification.

"Our customers are always our focus and have high expectations of us. Our worldwide certifications are a good indication that we are meeting these requirements and developing further together with our partners. This applies both to quality standards and individual supply chain solutions."
