TT Electronics has announced rapid progress by its divisions committed to the aerospace industry's SC21 improvement programme. The divisions are cooperating internally to accelerate improvements and increase value for customers.

Welwyn Components is the latest TT group company to achieve SC21 accreditation, having recently won bronze recognition by A|D|S, the organisation that originated and manages the programme. The group's contract assembly business, TT electronics - integrated manufacturing services, has also announced re-accreditation to bronze standard following its latest audit. In addition, New Chapel Electronics is submitting its first exposition for assessment by A|D|S, and expects to receive initial SC21 recognition when this is completed.

With other TT group companies BI Technologies and Semelab also about to begin preparing for SC21 audit, Harvey Preston, divisional director, described how the five companies are working together to promote SC21 objectives and increase the pace of progress.

“SC21 provides an effective framework for continuously improving cooperation between supply-chain partners, with metrics covering business excellence and manufacturing excellence,” he explained. “As such, it complements the industry-standard quality management systems already in place at TT group companies, such as AS9100.

“Our group companies have the additional benefit of working together through activities such as internal cluster events providing extra opportunities to learn together and share experiences and information. This will help them progress more quickly along their individual SC21 journeys, and ultimately deliver extra value for customers through stronger supply chain relationships, greater efficiency and increased competitiveness.”
