Walter GB says the new M2127 PCD face milling cutter is a logical continuation of the company’s M4000 system concept.

Users can reduce costs by utilising a universal system of inserts for different tools and differing applications for aluminium machining.

Designed for high-speed applications, the cutter is available in diameters up to 250mm and is ideal for both roughing and finishing aluminium as well as for smear milling and for finishing bi-metal components.

Its compact design and special chip deflection, plus having coolant guided directly to the cutting edge, means the exchangeable chip deflectors eject the chips away from the component, to ensure high component quality and process reliability.

The standard indexable inserts permit varying applications with the one tool; the PCD grades being optimised for separate tasks. All inserts feature seating grooves and are fixed in the insert seat with wedge clamps secured against centrifugal forces to ensure superb stability, even at extremely high speeds. Axial cutting edge adjustment enables the runout to be adjusted to one/two microns.
