Web Industries to offer webinar at SmallSat 2021

Web Industries, a precision formatter of flexible materials for space and aerospace applications, will offer an informative webinar for space and satellite companies at Small Satellite Conference 2021, August 7-12.

The webinar is titled “Trading Space for Space: Leveraging Co-sourcing To Stay on Mission.” This will be the second year in a row that SmallSat takes place entirely online due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Web’s “Trading Space for Space” webinar will detail the many benefits of sourcing non-core production activities from trusted supply partners. These activities include the production of multilayer insulation (MLI) blankets and formatted composite materials. The webinar, hosted by Lee Smith, Web’s Business Development Manager for Thermal Insulation, will take place Wednesday, Aug. 11, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern time.

“Co-sourcing allows space companies to free up valuable operational space and focus on their core competencies,” says Web’s Smith. “It can help companies use their internal resources more efficiently, reduce developmental cycle times and meet increasingly tight launch windows.”

At SmallSat 2021, Web Industries will also showcase its multilayer insulation (MLI) solutions for thermal management tasks aboard space vehicles. Consisting of multiple layers of film or foil, MLI blankets reflect radiated heat energy during flight. Web employs Creo CAD software to produce blankets that closely conform with dimensional requirements. In addition, Web will highlight its expertise in supplying precision-cut composite materials in pre-assembled kits to space and satellite companies.

Space and aerospace OEMs and other visitors registered for SmallSat can meet online with Web Industries’ Lee Smith by contacting him in advance at  Lsmith@webindustries.com
