Zotefoams, a world leader in cellular materials technology, reports a sustained increase in demand for its ZOTEK F used in advanced lightweighting applications within the aviation sector.

Available in flexible, semi-rigid and rigid grades, ZOTEK F foam is manufactured from specialist PVDF engineering polymers to meet the exacting standards of aviation manufacturers. It is suitable for a whole host of aircraft interior applications, thanks to its flexibility of manufacturing and compatibility with thermoforming processes. This allows the production of complex shapes for soft-touch trims, including dual foam soft-touch panels and composite panels. ZOTEK F also offers outstanding performance in applications requiring high durability, such as armrests due to the materials ability to be bake moulded, an increasingly popular manufacturing method.

With densities starting at just 33kg/m3 ZOTEK F is a true lightweight material offering impressive weight savings, making it an increasingly compelling choice compared to traditional materials. As well as weight and cost savings due to part integration, ZOTEK F is said to offer excellent Fire Smoke and Toxicity (FST) properties, meeting the stringent aviation interior flammability requirements.

Zotefoams will be exhibiting at Aircraft Interiors Expo 2019, Hamburg Messe, Germany on stand 3UB30.
