ZwickRoell moves headquarters to Worcester

A leading global supplier of advanced technology materials testing products, which has been operating in the UK for over 40 years, has moved its headquarters from Leominster to Worcester, occupying new, purpose-built premises.

ZwickRoell is a manufacturer of testing machines and systems which are employed in a wide range of industries and academia to evaluate the mechanical properties and performance of materials and components.

The company’s new 20,000ft2 facility which is located on the Worcester Six Business Park, is part of its continued expansion programme creating a new HQ and customer experience centre which includes an extensive suite of offices, meeting rooms, breakout areas, and a comprehensively equipped demonstration laboratory.

Green credentials have never been more important for businesses and ZwickRoell collaborated closely with the building contractor to ensure a reduction in the building’s carbon footprint, sending a clear message that the business is taking environmental responsibility seriously.

Some of the steps taken to reduce the building’s carbon footprint include a highly effective heat pump system that heats the building by transferring thermal energy from the outside using the refrigeration cycle, thereby efficiently recovering waste heat, and saving energy. Roof mounted solar panels produce electricity even in overcast conditions and secure, sheltered cycle storage units with living roofs, provide a rich biodiverse habitat. During the building’s construction stage, over 2,000 shrubs and trees were planted to supplement existing woodland.

The new headquarters will support the company’s planned growth and allow them to deliver first-class service to their customers as well as providing an outstanding working environment for their employees.

Benno Sadowski, managing director for ZwickRoell UK & Ireland, said: “We are delighted to establish a new facility in Worcester, with its excellent strategic location in the UK. With our experience of more than 160 years in the materials testing equipment industry, we are always investigating ways in which we can better support our customers with our products and services, in addition to creating relationships which embody our brand, vision, and values.”

To celebrate the opening of the new premises, there will be an official ribbon-cutting ceremony early in 2023 with customers, staff, and invited guests to showcase the new headquarters.
