Beaver Aerospace & Defense, a subsidiary of Phillips Service Industries (PSI) and specialist in the design and manufacturing of custom ball screws for commercial and military aircraft, has announced that it has upgraded its machining centre with two new 4-axis ecoMill 1100 V Mori Seiki machines.

The mill machines produce up to 12,000RPM of high-speed machining capabilities, with industry-leading .0001 tolerances. Both are equipped with direct drive rotary tables (DDRTs), allowing parts to be completed with a one-step setup process, and can handle parts up to 40” x 20”. In addition, both machines provide 30 tool slots and allow 3D designs to be loaded into the controls.

“Beaver Aerospace & Defence is proud to upgrade our machining centre capabilities,” said Ben Kearns, general manager at Beaver Aerospace & Defense. “With these technology investments, we are able to increase the speed, accuracy and part processing size for our customers, which reduces their overall costs.”
