Duratomic provides turning tonic!
Seco has extended its range of Duratomic inserts for steel turning applications to include a new grade - TP3501.
The grade is aimed at manufacturers turning steel and stainless steel components, and is especially suited to heavy-duty operations involving interrupted cuts and where less stable machine tools are being used. The grade is also ideal for machining awkward- and asymmetric-shaped parts where weak and/or relatively ‘unstable’ workholding is being used, as well as for components with small internal features.
TP3501 inserts feature Seco’s innovative Duratomic Al2o3 coating technology which, by manipulating it at an atomic level, delivers improved mechanical and thermal performance and a better balance between insert toughness and hardness.
