Erodex acquires BWP Technical Services

With the intention of further extending its range of services and products it offers the industry, Erodex has announced its acquisition of BWP Technical Services.

BWP was formed in 1963 and specialises in the tooling of nozzle guide vanes, turbine blades, discs and shafts. Particular emphasis has been placed on tooling requirements for 5-axis grinding machines, VIPER grinding, conventional machining process and EDM tooling. The company also has a wealth of experience in designing complex diamond roll dressers and various forms of mechanical gauging equipment.

Since its foundation in 1973, Erodex has been involved in the manufacture of EDM electrodes for aerospace applications.

The combination of nearly 80 years of experience now means that Erodex with BWP as its new design arm can provide tooling design, and tooling and electrode manufacture - all fully certified, resulting in shorter project lead times, lower costs and reduced risk.
