Gloucestershire CNC Specialist Phase 3 CNC has recently added the high precision Piranha-Clamp range of centring vices to its portfolio.

Piranha-Clamp is 100% manufactured in Switzerland, offering numerous performance advantages for the user. Featuring specially hardened and coated twin cylindrical jaw guiding system, the Piranha-Clamp centring vices ensure high repetition accuracy and extreme clamping power.

Material loss and billet size are kept to a minimum by using 3mm serrated clamping jaws, which, due to the strong clamping forces employed on the vices, mean no pre-clamping of the component is necessary. Tests have shown a significant reduction in billet vibration during heavy machining. Additionally, the patented quick change system enables super-fast changeovers with the wide variety of jaws available from Piranha Clamp.

The open construction allows for easy chip evacuation, and extremely low overall height ensure the machine working envelope is maximised. Optimum results are achieved with the use of the Piranha Clamp zero-point clamping system – a machine interface resulting in a repetition accuracy of 0.01mm.

Piranha-Clamp vices are available in sizes 170mm X 90mm or 300mm X 120mm, both of which are available with either fixed or quick change jaw options. Tested against established vices, Piranha-Clamps offer a significant reduction in jaw deflection, ensuring higher accuracy and repetition.

Piranha-Clamp will be at MACH 2018 on stand H18-106.
