The success comes after the laboratory completed a three day audit process which evaluated the compliance of testing processes, systems and equipment to the stringent international standards found within the aerospace industry.
Element Lancaster, an ISO 10725 accredited centre of excellence for fatigue and fracture mechanics, was originally awarded its Nadcap accreditation in 2007. The laboratory is accredited for an array of material testing services including: curve (resistance to fracture) testing; high cycle fatigue; fracture toughness; crack propagation/crack growth testing; low cycle fatigue; standard specimen machining; and low stress grinding and polishing.
