NWAA builds relationships at Farnborough

The North West Aerospace Alliance is building relationships with industry organisations in at least eight countries following the Farnborough Airshow.

During the event there were visits made to the NWAA stand from eight delegations made up of companies and cluster organisations from Australia, Brazil, China, India, Italy, Mexico, Canada and the United States.

The NWAA had a major presence at the show with 49 member companies joining the organisation's pavilion. The NWAA also had a representative of the government's UK Trade and Investment body present who held meetings with other interested organisations from around the world.

During the event, the NWAA also announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Aéro Montréal, its sister organisation in Canada, which will see the two cluster groups working closely together.

“It's exciting to see the work of the NWAA being recognised by aerospace sectors overseas in this way,” said Martin Wright, chief executive of the NWAA. “The work we are doing in improving and developing the supply chain in the North West through our ASCE (Aerospace Supply Chain Excellence) programme translates very well to our foreign counterparts, and we had some great discussions with a number of delegates at the show.

“In the coming months, we have visits to Mexico and Canada planned to continue discussions with our counterparts there, and continue to grow the NWAA as a commercial body with expertise which is of value not just to the North West of England, but also nationally and internationally.”
