Aerospace companies can discover the latest inspection trends and technologies at Materials Testing 2017, which takes place from 5-7 September in Telford.

The biennial event is the world’s most comprehensive exhibition of non-destructive testing (NDT), materials testing, condition monitoring and diagnostic technologies.

The show comes as innovations such as the use of permanently installed sensors offer huge potential for improved testing and monitoring.

Materials Testing 2017 promises to be the biggest and best exhibition to date, with over 70 exhibitors and a wide range of seminars covering the practical aspects of NDT and related technologies.

The biennial event is organised by the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) and will run alongside its annual conference, NDT 2017, providing additional networking opportunities.

Paul Fidgeon, Chairman of the organising committee, said: “NDT plays a major role in ensuring safety in the aerospace industry. Current trends include the increased use of permanently installed sensors within engines and further developments in testing composites and components produced by additive manufacturing. Materials Testing is the most comprehensive event of its type and allows aerospace professionals and NDT practitioners alike to keep up to date with developments like these and hear from industry experts.”

The event, which is free to attend for registered visitors, takes place at the International Centre in Telford, West Midlands and is open from 9.30am to 4.30pm on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 September and from 9.30am to 2.00pm on Thursday 7 September. The International Centre in Telford is less than one-and-a-half hours from Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool international airports and only five minutes away from the UK rail and motorway networks.
