Three key engineering shows come together from 6-8 June 2017 under one event for British manufacturing.

Subcon, the UK’s showcase for contract and subcontract manufacturing, returns to the NEC alongside its two-yearly sister events, the Advanced Manufacturing Show and The Engineer Design & Innovation Show.

Together the three shows provide one destination for the complete manufacturing cycle from concept to component, bringing together design engineering, product development, in-house production and outsourced supply chains. Over 500 exhibitors will come together with thousands of professional visitors who have current sourcing needs for equipment, software and manufacturing services.

Established over 40 years ago, Subcon is a UK’s event dedicated to outsourced manufacturing. It serves all sectors and all processes – from machining, sheet metalworking, casting and forging, to plastic moulding, composites and electronics.

Launched in 2013, the Advanced Manufacturing Show covers every aspect of production technology, including machining and turning centres, lasers and press brakes, tooling, metrology, ancillaries and controls.

Finally, The Engineer Design & Innovation Show offers what a design engineer needs to create innovative new products – from CAD and simulation software to prototyping and components – in a world where developments such as smart automation, cyber-physical systems and the circular economy are changing the way that businesses operate.

Gordon Kirk, event director, commented: “At this crucial time for UK manufacturing we need to make sure that its competitive edge is as keen as possible so that it can continue to do business in global markets whatever the future brings.

“The Advanced Manufacturing Show provides the tools to keep our manufacturers at the peak of productivity, Subcon gives them access to engineering expertise, capacity and technologies that they don’t have in-house and The Engineer Design & Innovation Show provides the tools to bring new world-beating products to market.”

Tom Mongan, general manager at Subcon Laser, said: “When the three shows first ran together two years ago, it ranked among the best events I have ever exhibited at. We were inundated with good-quality visitors and exceptional leads. It works very well having Subcon alongside the Advanced Manufacturing Show and The Engineer Design & Innovation Show because it brings together subcontract buyers, production engineers and designers under one roof. I have every expectation that this year’s event will be at least as good, if not better.”
