The executive committee of HEGAN, the Basque aerospace and space cluster has accepted Galindo Metallurgical Industries, Ingemat and LTK as members, bringing the total number of partners in the cluster to 40.

The incorporation of these three new businesses will enable them to take part in programmes of international cooperation, innovation and promotion in which the cluster association is involved. The new members, in turn, will increase the technological capacity of the cluster and widen the supply chain from the areas of manufacture to design, management and production software, testing, maintenance, automation and logistics.

The LTK company, located in the Basque capital of Vitoria-Gasteiz in Madrid, Albacete, Seville and Cadiz specialises in logistics and transport activities for the aeronautics industry, making it the first company of the cluster with logistics activities.

Ingemat, the automation and robotics engineering company specialises in the integrated and comprehensive management of projects and has entered the aerospace industry this year through two contracts that enable it to take part in the manufacture of the new Airbus A350.

Industrias Metalúrgicas Galindo is also aiming to consolidate its activity in this sector with its entry into HEGAN. The Mungia, Bizkaia-based company has been working on the assembly and tool building for the casings of aero turbines for Trent 1000, which will equip the Boeing 787 Dreamliner), the TP400 (A400M) and the Trent XWB.
