Trumpf has announced that its recent open house significantly exceeded expectations.

Within days of opening the registration process, visitor numbers were far higher than projected, prompting the company to extend the duration of the event from two days to three.

In total, Trumpf welcomed around 200 subcontractors and OEMs to its Technology Centre in Luton, an unprecedented figure in recent years. Their interest was across all Trumpf technologies from design through to automated manufacture as well as long-established technologies such as power tools.

One of the features that proved most popular at open house was Trumpf’s new Oseon software which allows users to fully automate the flow of materials on the production floor without linking it to a large-scale storage system. Visitors were also keen to learn about Trumpf developments in automated laser welding and new process features, such as Edgeline Bevel, that allows flatbed lasers to produce chamfers and countersinks in sheet metal.

To top-off the event, Trumpf has also confirmed that four orders were secured across several technologies.
