Under one umbrella

As an independent supply fair for aerospace industry, Airtec 2010 will once again become a meeting place for the supply industry and the top supply chain management.

The show organisers of Airtec 2010, the International Aerospace Supply Fair, taking place from 2-4 November at the Exhibition Centre Frankfurt, say that the event is experiencing increasing growth due to the participation of top managers throughout the global aerospace supply chain.

The organisers go on to note that in comparison to the same period last year, the event has doubled the number of exhibitors and tripled the exhibition space. Overall, exhibitors and visitors from 45 nations are expected to attend the event, which demonstrates that Airtec attracts a high percentage of international participants.

Airtec is a blend of trade exhibition, technical conferences and integrated B2B meetings and enjoys a high presence of OEMs, engine manufacturers and system suppliers with their supply chain management. This strengthens the event as an independent supply fair for aerospace.

At Airtec, exhibitors meet with supply chain, procurement and programme managers and project engineers at OEMs, as well as system suppliers from around the world. At the fifth anniversary of Airtec, exhibitors will be awarded with the Airtec Award in gold, silver and bronze for their special innovations and achievements in aerospace. Furthermore, high profile conferences will be held at during the show.

Four international conferences

The event also presents four international conferences. Besides the international conference Supply on the Wings, Airtec provides international conferences along with the HELI World theme park, the UAV World theme park and the new SPACE World. In addition, a workshop on quality management will be taking place.

Within hall 11 and the Portalhaus, Airtec's integrated B2B Meetings provide an ideal atmosphere for intensive business and technical project conversations. The B2B meetings are held during the exhibition in 30 minute intervals and only visitors of supply chain managers, project and programme managers and engineers in research and development of OEMs, engine manufacturers, first tier suppliers and other supply levels may arrange conversations on the B2B platform with the exhibitors.

The theme park HELI World takes place for the second time at Airtec. Invited as exhibitors to the park, helicopter industry companies include manufacturers, operators, suppliers, universities and institutions. Well known names, including several Russian helicopter manufacturers and one of the world's largest, will be represented.

The HELI World conference shows a successful development and takes place using the slogan ‘Helicopter technologies and missions'. The conference covers all aspects of the helicopter industry - from design and structures, communication and navigation to transport and forest fire fighting.

The UAV World theme park will take place for the fourth time under the slogan of ‘UAS Technologies and Missions', and involves specialist suppliers in the fields of electronics and sensor technology measurement, such as Rockwell Collins and CAE Electronics Those represented include DLR in cooperation with MAVinci and The National Aviation University of Ukraine Furthermore, current and future developments will be discussed by renowned experts from Germany and abroad. The UAV World conference will cover all topics from design, engineering and sensor technologies to ‘sense and avoid', communication and navigation.

For the first time Airtec will present the SPACE World theme park. With the slogan ‘From vision to commercial application', SPACE World theme park provides an innovative combination of an international conference and exhibition, where exhibitors from different areas of space are present. With 50 lectures from nine nations with space missions, space technologies and earth observation, the conference programme presents a wider thematic range than ever before. This will be of interest to a combination of companies, institutions and universities working on satellite systems, components, testing systems and electronic components.

With the integrated B2B meetings for space and the international conference with high-class speakers, the theme park also promotes the use of space technologies in other applications, such as automotive technology, agriculture, environment, civil protection and renewable energies.

Along with the B2B Meetings, top class and future-oriented conferences are essential parts of Airtec and so the international ‘Supply on the wings' conference will return for the fifth time under the motto ‘Aerospace - the global industry'.

Members of the scientific board of ‘Supply on the wings' represent high-level participants from industry, science and organisations, such as Airbus (UK), Boeing (USA), Embraer (Brazil), Bombardier (Canada), Israel Aerospace Industry, Roll-Royce (Germany), BIAM (China) and Hitco (USA). The keynotes are held by Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Embraer, European Commission, Beijing Institute of Aeronautical Materials, NLR and NASA as well as invited presentations from Airbus and Alenia. For the first time at the conference there will also be a presentation from China.

The industry's meeting place

Airtec's organisers sum up by concluding that the event is a trade fair for the entire aerospace supply chain and covers all areas from design, engineering, testing and simulation to materials, production, tools, components and systems, electronics, sensor systems to lifecycle support. The show promises to illustrate many new technologies, innovations and trends and will give a diverse overview of the supplier industry of aerospace.

With its innovative exhibition concept and integrated B2B meetings Airtec unites all levels of the supply chain for aerospace at one location. This constitutes an excellent opportunity for exhibitors to showcase their capabilities, skills and know-how and support OEMs and system suppliers in the search and orientation for new technical and economic solutions. With its mix of exhibitors leading the market for small and medium enterprises, Airtec facilitates the establishment of new contacts and business opportunities for the entire industry and thus promotes innovation and new technology projects throughout the aerospace industry.

The organisers claim that Airtec is more than an exhibition. Through its individual B2B service and the personal commitment, the organisers unite potential customers with the exhibitors at Airtec to form strong distribution and marketing partners throughout the industry under one umbrella. Through international competence, Airtec has grown to become a communication and contact platform where professions can meet and do business.
